In the Andean highlands and in the Upper Amazon, ten Nuclei for Andean Cultural Affirmation (NACA’s) are operating as executing units of the Project In Situ for the conservation of native plants and their wild relatives in the Andes of Peru.

They carry out their activities in coordination with PRATEC the Andean Project of Peasant Technologies one of six implementing institutions participating in this project. This project receives financial support from the Global Environmental Facilities (GEF) and the Italian Government, managed by the local UNDP office.
