The Valley Trust
Insight (Video Facilitators)

When people living near the small tea estate in Inanda C (Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa) saw water pipes being laid in October 2004, they were overjoyed. Standing pipes would soon be spouting water, they were told … but they waited in vain.

Helped by The Valley Trust and Insight - Participatory Video Organisation, the Inanda community planned, directed and filmed a short video about this situation, to be used as a lobbying tool. The community also filmed 6 other short videos on the subjects of HIV, community dance and singing group, drugs and alcohol, a local feeding scheme and an introduction to the video methods they used.
