A Community Video Discussion Portal

From Participatory Video to People's Video

This is a pilot and will be more active soon!

This Portal website is currently under construction so please make any constructive comments, give ideas or ask questions about the purpose, design and accessibility on the discussion forum linked at the top of this page. Participatory Video comes in all shapes and sizes and has many descriptions. - Grassroots Video and Community Video to name just two english descriptions. It is only in recent years that the world’s diverse practitioners are becoming aware of each other. PV Satheesh InterviewAn interview with P.V Satheesh about People's Video

In spite of the new connections being made between people and communities who participate in this specific method of video production and the benefits it can entail can rarely meet each other and they have few opportunities to share skills, celebrate innovations and support one another. Whilst meeting in the flesh may be tricky, meeting on the internet is now commonplace.

This pilot web portal is being developed by Insight to join together those people interested in participatory video, from practitioners, people who want to find out what it is all about to the communities themselves that have created such videos. It will host organisation and community pages, show films, and include discussion forums, but most importantly it will be there for the members! This is currently a pilot so please email rsleight@insightshare.org with any suggestions you may have! For a quick look at the Portal visit the white links along the top of the page. To see Parter pages, Theme pages, recent posts look at the left hand panel. To Log In, or look who is new go to the right hand panel To read more on ideas around this pilot go to Portal Development.
